5 ways to use your new notepad - that isn’t endless to do lists!!

3 minute read

We all love a good to-do list (hello dopamine hit!!) but sometimes your notepad deserves a little more variety. Whether you’ve got a growing stack of memo pads from Oh, Laura (no judgement, I designed them to be irresistible!!) or just want to make the most of your stationery stash, here are five fun and functional ways to use your notepads without just writing ‘do laundry’ for the 47th time.

The brain dump page

Feeling a bit all over the place? Turn your notepad into a no judgement zone with a brain dump. Scribble down literally EVERYTHING that is floating around in your head: random thoughts, things you’re avoiding, weird dreams etc. Getting it all out on paper clears your head so you can focus on what actually needs your attention.

Meal & snack ideas

Not up for meal planning but tired of staring into the fridge and wondering for the 100th time what you’re going to have for dinner? Use your notepad to jot down go–to, easy dinners favourite snacks or even ‘freezer finds’ for when you just can’t be bothered. Even better, stick the note on your fridge!!

One good thing a day

Use your notepad as a little gratitude journal - writing down things you are thankful for can foster a positive mindset and potentially reduce stress and anxiety. Every evening (otr whenever you remember, if you’re like me), write down one good thing from your day. It doesn’t have to be deep, it could be as simple as you got a parking spot on the first try! Or that your iced coffee hit juuuust right. Over time, you’ll build a lovely archive of wins and joy.

Habit tracker

Draw a quick grid, make some little tick boxes or use some of the Oh Laura tracker stickers, and start tracking habits - like drinking more water, moving your body or not scrolling tik tok in bed. Keep it visual, cute and keep it judgement free! Missing a day doesn’t mean you failed - it just means you’re human!

The ‘don’t forget’ list

Not quite a to–do list, but more of a brain-saver. Jort down things like birthdays that are coming up and returns you need to make etc. Stick it near your laptop or on your wall for a daily planner without the guilt of ‘I should be doing this right now!!!’

Extra tip: Pair your notepad with stickers, highlighters or a sparkly pen to make it even more fun to use. Because if you’re going to be doing all this planning and writing things down, you might as well make it fun!!
