Eleven years of Oh Laura!

Eleven years of Oh Laura!

3 minute read

This month, Oh, Laura turns 11. Eleven whole years since I first started designing notebooks and cards from my bedroom desk in Sheffield, hoping to make a little extra money while I searched for a “real” job. (Spoiler alert: I never got that job. I accidentally made my own instead.)

What started as a creative side hustle in 2014 has become something far bigger than I ever imagined - a full-blown stationery brand with colourful designs, bold to-do lists, and a community of people who, like me, just want to make life a little more manageable (and more fun!) with tools that actually work for the way their brains operate.

If you’re new here - hi! I’m Laura, founder and designer of Oh, Laura, a brand that exists because of my lifelong love of stationery (shout out to school book fairs everywhere). I’m also autistic - something I was diagnosed with as an adult - which has massively shaped how I live, work, and design. Because not all brains work the same, and I know first-hand how overwhelming an endless to-do list can be when it feels like your brain is playing on hard mode.

That’s why every Oh, Laura product is designed with simplicity, clarity and a touch of humour in mind. Whether it's notepads, planners, memo pads, stickers or gifts, my goal is to help you actually enjoy getting organised, not feel bad about the five things you didn’t cross off.

Over the past 11 years, Oh, Laura has grown far beyond my bedroom. I’ve shipped orders all over the world, seen my work featured on Buzzfeed and Huffington Post, been stocked in shops big and small, and even had my stationery hand-picked by Drew Barrymore for her back-to-school edit!

But more than that, I’ve been able to connect with thousands of lovely humans who tell me how much they love crossing things off a pastel-coloured bingo-style to-do list, or how a notepad made them laugh on a rough day. That’s the part I love the most. This business has grown because of you - your support, your feedback, your love of lists, and your delight in matching your pen to your planner.

As I go into year 12 (!!), I’m more excited than ever about what’s to come: more useful tools, more colour, more sarcastic motivational quotes (obviously), and more ways to help you feel like you’ve got your life mostly together.

Thanks for being part of this journey. Whether you’ve bought one sticker or every planner I’ve ever made, you’ve helped me build something magical. Here's to the next 11!

With love and colourful to-do lists,
Laura x
