Depending on which circles you run in, you might be an expert washi collector or you might not know what washi tape is!
I’m here to fill you in on what washi tape is, how you can use it and why you need it in your life!
Firstly, washi tape is a tape that is printed onto rice paper. They are decorative tapes, so tend to come with some super cute illustrations or patterns on them. The avid washi tape collectors among us will be the first to tell you that when you start buying tapes, you can’t stop! As there are so many gorgeous designs out there.
But what should we use washi tape for? Don’t worry, I’ve got some ideas for you.
Decorate your planners and journals.
Transform your planners into a book of beautiful colour and patterns with washi tapes. You can create vibrant headers, tabs and borders. Great for notebooks, journals or scrapbooks.
DIY bookmarks.
This can be a bit of a risky one, but because washi tape is relatively low tack, you could use them as tiny tabs on your books to mind your space. Just be careful and don’t leave it on too long!
Gift Wrapping
Even if you only have brown paper, you can make your presents look super cute with a few pieces of tape!
Gadget upgrades
Give your laptop or your Kindle a make over with some patterned washi tapes
Organisation
Got some jars in your pantry that need labelling? Look no further than Washi tape! It’s quite easy to write over washi tape with the right pens.
Key finder
If you’re constantly losing your keys in the bottomless pit that is your bag, just wrapo a piece of brightly coloured tape around the key head. Hopefully, it will stand out from the crowd enough. You could also get one of these keychains too.
Wall art
As I said before, washi tape is quite low tack meaning you can stick things down and usually peel them off without damaging the surface. Therefore washi tape is perfect for taping things like photos, postcards, letters and artwork to you walls! No need for pesky nails that ruin your walls.
Snail mail!
Speaking of letters, why not decorate your letters and envelopes before you send them off to your pen pals. Snail mail at its finest, your friends will be thrilled to open them!
So there we have eight uses, and I’m pretty sure there are about 100 more that I just can’t think of right now. I’ll probably wake up in the middle of the night with some more ideas for you, but let’s just leave it at that for now hey?
How do you use your washi tape? I’d love to see your ideas!
